The UV brings together leading figures in banking law to discuss sustainable financial activity

The Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València is holding on 26 and 27 October a conference on banking law entitled “Towards a sustainable banking activity: green, social and with artificial intelligence.” The event will be inaugurated by Mavi Mestre, Principal of the Universitat de València. The ceremony will be attended by Nicolás Jannone, General Director of Financing at the Valencian Department of Finance, Economy and Public Administation; Javier Palao, Dean of the Faculty; and professor Juan A. Ureña.

Among the participants in the event will be Cayetana Lado, legal director of the Official Credit Institute (ICO); Lucia Arranz Alonso, director of the legal department of the Bank of Spain; José María Fernández, general director of the European Investment Bank; and José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, president of CaixaBank.

The conference will be directed by Juan A. Ureña Salcedo, professor of Law at the Universitat de València, and Javier Gómez-Ferrer, managing partner of BDO Valencia.  

As Ureña Salcedo explains, this is a unique opportunity to discuss with the best specialists on a variety of current topics such as the application of environmental, social and governance principles and duties in banking; the dissemination of knowledge on sustainability; the supervision of climate and environmental risks; or governance and artificial intelligence, among others.
