With the slogan ‘starting together’, the Universitat de València, leader in research in the Valencian Community since 1499, expands its participation in the Valencia Digital Summit to more than 50m2 of exhibition stands where it will present an intrauterine manipulator that will revolutionise the care of gynaecological patients.

The Universitat de València, the first of the Valencian Community in Research, Development and Innovation (R+D+I) shares with the Valencian society and the international scientific community its compromise with innovation and talent at the Valencia Digital Summit.

During October 23 and October 24, the UV will showcase, with over 50m2 of display stands and simulators, its research and innovation offer and services, through an interactive and immersive proposal that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Attendees can find the space of the Universitat de València at stands 14 and 16 of the fair located in the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia and they are invited to attend and participate in the Workshop and Panel Discussion organised for Thursday 24.

The Workshop will address the challenges and opportunities for the creation of spin-offs and how they find in the UV Science Park an ideal environment to grow. The panel discussion will focus on how emerging technologies are redefining our future.

Together we undertake

At the fair, the UV shares its commitment to research and innovation, which is articulated, on one hand, through the more than 80 Institutional and Business Chairs, which allow a stable academic collaboration that extends its activities to all areas of university activity.

In addition, the UV has more than 28 Research Institutes and Interdisciplinary Research Structures (ERI), including the Institute for Molecular Science (ICMol) and the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio), among others.

Finally, we must not forget the UV Science Park, the largest research infrastructure in the Valencian territory with more than seventy-two thousand square metres dedicated to knowledge generation and which houses more than 80 companies.

Thus, the Universitat de València develops its research in all areas of knowledge, from Engineering and Basic Sciences to Social Sciences, Economic and Legal Sciences, passing through the Arts and Humanities, Educational Sciences and Medicine and Health Sciences.

Robotics applied to gynaecology

The UV reaffirms its commitment to innovation and healthcare with an innovative uterine and rectal manipulator, a tool that will constitute a revolution in the care of gynaecological patients.

This robotic system optimises surgery by allowing a single surgeon to control a mechanical arm, which reduces the need for specialised staff, improves precision and speeds up operations.

Technology applied to the arts, humanities and health.

The systems that the UV demonstrates to the scientific community transcend the field of health. Visitors will be able to enjoy the Formula 1 simulator, unique for its 6 degrees of freedom movement platform and a 333º wraparound screen that offers an immersive sensation similar to that of a real vehicle.

Attendees will also be able to learn about the prosthetic arm that can move fingers and grasp objects using muscle power; the advanced driving assistance system that allows robots to be operated remotely; and the autonomous indoor robot that maps 3D environments using a depth camera and visual SLAM technology.

A stand developed by the UV

The Universitat de València displays its informative proposal over 50 square metres, an area where visitors can interact with the different simulators, such as the F1 simulator, and browse the interactive screens to find out about the innovation and transfer offerings of the institution.

This innovative proposal, based on interaction with the public and virtual immersion, has been developed entirely by the UV, from the graphic design to the design and construction of the spaces, and including the production of audiovisual and interactive content.
