Both institutions have signed an agreement for the creation of the LegalTech Lab Chair, which is a strategic commitment that will provide better digital skills to the legal landscape.

Maria Vicenta Mestre, Principal of the Universitat de València, and Luis Fernández, Global Director of Public Administration Markets at Minsait, have signed an agreement for the creation of the LegalTech Lab Chair. This is a collaborative initiative that will promote training courses on technological innovation and research, transparency and dissemination projects on the new challenges and opportunities offered by Artificial Intelligence in the practice of law and its various facets.

The Chair will provide coverage for the research teaching unit of the Faculty of Law, whose work aims to promote the internal and comprehensive management of the study and knowledge on the use and development of AI applications. In fact, those applications are increasingly attractive to law firms and legal operators, who are becoming aware of their potential as catalysts of innovative solutions within the Spanish legal landscape.

Under this agreement, the Faculty of Law and the LegalTech Laboratory of the Universitat de València will be at the forefront of knowledge on the matter. In addition, it will enable the development of future joint projects with this internationally renowned technology company, also in areas of knowledge other than law.

On behalf of the Universitat de València, the agreement signing ceremony was attended by Ángeles Solanes, Vice-Principal for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employability; Rosa Donat, Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transfer; Francisco Javier Palao, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Rafael Marimón, Director of the LegalTech and Artificial Intelligence Chair; and professors Silvia Barona and Concepción Sáiz. On behalf of Minsait were Julio Espiña, Director of Business Development for the Public Administrations (PA) Market; Nacho Martos, Director of PA at Minsait Zona Levante; Rafael Gonzales Pons, PA Manager Zona Levante; Grisel Giunta, PA Manager Zona Levante; and Daniel Torrado, PA Manager.
