Valencia will host the 18th International Conference on Urban Health of the International Society for Urban Health (ISUH), the only global non-governmental organisation in the world that focuses exclusively on the promotion of urban health.

"During the meeting we will discuss models of participation and empowerment, prioritising and defining equity in communities, how biodiversity and natural elements can play a role in healthy urban futures, and ways to reduce climate impacts for all," explains the director of the International Society for Urban Health (ISUH), M Giselle Sebag.

To this end, the congress has six main sub-topics: Urban natural environments and ecosystems; Urban health pathways; Transforming urban environments for health; Making it happen; Building equitable cities for all; Evidence and practice from Valencia and Spain.

The Botanical Garden and La Petxina Cultural and Sports Centre will be the venues for this edition of the congress, which will be held in person, but will also offer some virtual sessions. The programme will include dynamic presentations, practice-oriented debates, interactive workshops, special exhibitions and visits to local projects.

"We want to connect all stakeholders globally working in the field of urban health to drive action and ensure equity in all cities and regions," stresses the Director of the International Society for Urban Health (ISUH).

The deadline for submission of papers will be open until 15th May and registration for participation in the congress will be open until 31st July.
