The vice-principal of Innovation and Transference of the Universitat de València, Rosa Mª Donat, inaugurates this Wednesday the VI Conference of Women in Science. She will be accompanied by the director of the ICMol, Eugenio Coronado, the director of the IFIC, Núria Rius, and the director of the Parc Cientific, Juan José Borrás, as well as the dean of Physics, Jordi Vidal, and the dean of Chemistry, Adela Mauri. Also, the rector M. Vicenta Mestre is expected to attend.

The programme includes lectures of Pilar Goya Laza –chemist, research professor of the CSIC and president of the European Chemical Society– and Silvia Gallego Queipo –physicist and vice-principal of the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid–, under the titles Ética en la investigación: buenas prácticas científicas (Ethics in research: good scientific practices) and Comisiones de igualdad, ¿por dónde empiezo? (Equality commissions, where do I start?), respectively. Both will then take part in a round table with the ICMol researcher Alicia Forment, where they will discuss different aspects about the difficulties women face in developing their scientific careers and the ethical implications involved.

The event will also include the official presentation of the Equality teams of the two centres involved in the day. The 'Women and Science' team of the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol, UV) and the Commission for Equality and Diversity of the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC, UV-CSIC) that are responsible for the organisation of this VI Conference of Women Researchers, in which the Equality Unit of the academic institution is collaborating.
