The points of the agreement to be signed by both entities were determined and consolidated during the visit. It was also an opportunity to see first-hand the spaces, facilities and work carried by the foundation Per Amor a l’Art in different fields.

Susana Lloret, vice-presient of Fundació Per Amor a l’Art (FPAA), received Mavi Mestre, principal of the University, at Bomba Gens to determine all the points of the agreement to be signed. They were accompanied by Juan Vicente Climent, the gerenal manager of the University of Valencia, and, on behalf of the FPAA, by Juan José Torres, the general director; Sandra Guimañares, the artistic director, and Roberto Simón, the Social Area director.

The relationship between Fundació Per Amor a l’Art and the University of Valencia has been close for many years, with the regular incorporation of internship students at Bombas Gens Centre d’Art. Five students are currently studying the following master’s degrees at the centre: Master’s Degree in History of Art and Visual Culture (UV and UJI), Master’s Degree PERMEA (Centre del Carme and UV), Master’s Degree in Cultural Heritage (UV), Master’s Degree in Social Education, and Master’s Degree in Social and Educational Action. This year, the FPAA is also actively collaborating with two unique programmes, ART i Ment and Activa Cultura.

The agreement aims to develop and expand the relationship between both entities, so as to plan seminars, conferences and courses given by lecturers and specialists in the field on subjects of interest to the University and FPPA. It will also deepen the training, development and dissemination of field work and support for researchers. Volunteering will be other key point of this further agreement. In short, joint quality projects and activities will be generated, in line with the mission, vision and values of the FPAA, shared by the University.

One of the objectives of FPAA is to network with institutions, companies, social, cultural and economic agents of the city so that citizens, companies and institutions can participate in its activities and thus in constructing a better and fairer society.

The Principal visited the entire Bomba Gens facilities and the three exhibitions currently on show at the Art centre: ‘Juan Uslé: Ojo y Paisaje’; ‘Botánicas’ and ‘Hiperespacios’. She also had the opportunity to visit the Civil War’s shelter, created for Bomba Gens workers during the Civil War. As well as to walk through the beautiful Mediterranean garden, stop at the Cristina Iglesias installation and go into the spectacular medieval wine cellar. After all, Bomba Gens is a centre of art and much more.
