Very active in cultural and civic life, most of Dacia Maraini`s works have been inspired by her life experiences and her travels around the world. According to her, writing and travelling are forms of illness and therapy, which allow her to “look from a distance and, possibly, see the things better”. In her works she is constantly interested in the living conditions of women and the problems of childhood. She has received numerous important awards, such as the Campiello (1990), the Strega (1999) and the Campiello to the trajectory (2012).

Some of her works translated into Spanisch are “The Long life of Marianna Ucria” (Seix Barral, 1995) ”The train of the last night” (Galaxia Gutenberg,2013), “Clara de Asis. Praise of disobedience” (Altamarea 2021) and “Happy body, Women, revolutions and a lost son” (Altamarea, 2019).
