Talk at the library to mark World Book Day: “Memòria sense tinta: el poble romaní a través de les seues veus”

On World Book Day, Thursday 23 April, the Maria Moliner Education Library will host a talk at 4.30 pm by professors:

• Santiago Vicente Llavata,Senior Lecturer in the Departamento de Filologia Espanyola de la UV and Cap d'Iniciatives Unisocietat, Vicerectorat de Cultura i Societat de la UV.
• Donatella Donato, PDI-Assistant Lecturer, in the Departament de Didàctica i Organització Escolar Facultat de Filosofia i Ciències de l'Educació de la UV.

Entitled: “Memòria sense tinta: el poble romaní a través de les seues veus”.

The event will take place on the library terrace (Level -1), will last approximately one hour, and will conclude with a discussion open to the public.

New exhibition to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

"La diversidad nos enriquece. La igualdad nos une"

Under this title, the library is launching a new exhibition to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. 

Every March 21, this day is observed to highlight the importance of building more just, inclusive, and respectful societies. 

This exhibition brings together a selection of books that invite reflection on diversity, human rights, equality, and the voices that have historically been silenced. Through these works, the library aims to provide a space for learning, questioning, and celebrating the richness of our differences.

The books are available for checkout and for reservation.

New workstation at the Education Library!

We are launching a new work booth on the third floor. It can be reserved through the Affluence programme, like the other booths in the library, but under the name: Micro-booth.

What sets it apart from other booths?

• Exclusive use as a WORK booth (not for study)
• OPENING HOURS: 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Maximum number of people inside: 2.
• TIME OF USE: 2 hours maximum

Collage workshop at Createca

Title: Collage with discarded magazines

Come and give the magazines in the library a second life!
In this workshop, we will learn how to create original collages by reusing magazines that have been discarded. Put your creativity to the test using the materials available on the table and be inspired by the examples we have prepared.

• Where can you display them? On the side panels of the shelves or on the staircase railing and wall.
• When? January and February 2026
• Location: La Createca. Education Library. University of Valencia.

No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to experiment, cut, and combine colors and shapes!

No registration required, free workshop, asynchronous workshop, unlimited places, take a break and get creative!

UV libraries extend opening hours

This weekend marks the start of extended opening hours in several libraries of the Universitat de València, with the aim of offering students more study time during the January exam period. 

The Education Library is one of them.

In addition, on December 26 the UV will implement 24-hour opening and evening schedules on weekdays, ensuring that the university community has sufficient study and consultation spaces. Full information on library access is available at this link.
