Celebration of the First International Library Staff Week
From May 12 to 16, 2025, the Libraries and Documentation Service of the University of Valencia hosted, with the support of UVinternacional, its first International Staff Week for Librarians, a meeting that brought together library professionals from European universities in our city.
The participants’ presentations can be found on the event website. This article is accompanied by a video that showcases some images and recordings captured throughout the week, highlighting memorable moments from this enriching experience.

Reservation of spaces for lunchtime available for up to 24 hours
The maximum reservation time for study spaces during lunch hours is 1 hour. To validate your reservation, it is mandatory to collect a slip from the front desk. Any space not clearly marked with this slip or exceeding the allowed time may be made available to other users. We appreciate your cooperation.

Exhibition: "Sacred Spaces"
The Rediscovery of the Maya Cities in the 19th Century: Teobert Maler in the Yucatán Peninsula
The exhibition presents a selection of photographs by the Austro-German architect and photographer Teobert Maler, who documented ancient Maya cities in the late 19th century. His images highlight panoramic views, architecture, and sculptures from the regions of Yucatán and Campeche, revealing the grandeur and cultural richness of the Maya civilizations.
Maler’s photographs not only showcase the impressive pre-Hispanic architecture, but also capture the presence of the present-day descendants of the Maya, reflecting the continuity of their traditions and cultural heritage.

We have the winning stories from the Microfiction Contest!
The “Joan Reglà” Humanities Library has announced the winners of the 3rd edition of its Microfiction Contest. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the Library’s Multi-purpose Room.
