Literary exhibition: "Place-Based Memories and Cultural Identity"

As part of the literary exhibition Place-Based Memories and Cultural Identity, held at the Joan Reglà Humanities Library at the University of Valencia from 17 September to 8 October 2026, a talk will take place on 2 October at 12:30 p.m.

The talk, which will be delivered in English for Anna Brigido-Corachan, will explore the relationship between place, memory and cultural identity, reflecting on how the spaces we inhabit, remember and represent contribute to the construction of our individual and collective identities.

The session is open to the university community and will bring together students from different backgrounds, including Erasmus students, with the aim of creating a space for dialogue, reflection and the exchange of cultural perspectives.

Two Digital Humanities projects selected in the Good Practices section of the "Freie Universität Berlin"

Two of the Digital Humanities Projects, carried out in collaboration with the Library of Humanities and the Department of Spanish Philology of the UV, have been selected in the Good Teaching Practices with a Gender and Diversity Perspective, within the Spanish version of the Toolbox Gender and Diversity in Teaching of the Freie Universität Berlin.

This initiative seeks to highlight and share innovative and transformative experiences in the field of higher education, from different areas of knowledge and aimed at promoting a more equitable, inclusive and critical education, based on the incorporation of the gender and diversity perspective.

Coordination: Dra. Sabina García Peter (Freie Universität Berlin), Dra. Lorea Romero Gutiérrez (Universidad de Deusto) and Stefany Cordero Aliaga (Universidad de Granada).

Coexistence and conflict in cultural landscapes

The exhibition has been organized by the project itself and the Joan Reglá Humanities Library, in collaboration with Patricia Sancho Ferrer, a student of Hispanic Studies, and the Department of Art History of the University of Valencia.

Coexistence and conflict in cultural landscapes is an emerging educational innovation project (PIEE 2025–2026) coordinated by Encarna Montero Tortajada and Óscar Calvé Mascarell, professors in the Department of Art History at the University of Valencia, in which nearly 300 students have participated using diverse strategies.

It features 15 photographs, each accompanied by a brief explanation, selected from approximately one hundred submissions by students of the Art History degree program at the University of Valencia.

The aim is to stimulate constructive critical thinking in a world, the current one, defined by threats related to coexistence and/or conflict.

II Virtual Exhibition. Mothers, the marvel breaking the shadows: motherhood in Hispanic cultural production

The second virtual exhibition, “Mothers, the marvel breaking the shadow. Motherhood in Hispanic cultural production,” is part of a well-established line of research within the Master's Program in Advanced Hispanic Studies: Applications and Research (Department of Spanish Philology, University of Valencia). It arises, once again, from the critical debate developed in the classroom and the desire to share this knowledge with society.
