    Presentation of Julian Martin Abad's book "Incunables y Postincunables valencianos

    The book "Incunables y postincunables valencianos" by Julian Martin Abad has been published.

    The presentation will take place on March 27, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the Duc de Calàbria room of the Biblioteca Hisròrica.

    Five and a half centuries after the arrival of the printing press in Valencia, this rigorous repertoire of Valencian incunabula and post-incunabula is offered from the 220 known editions, made unique by the rarity of preserved copies. All those interested in the history of Valencia from the 15th century and the first years of the 16th century will find this work a highly reliable reference tool.

    New exhibition "MARIA BENEYTO. CRISOL OF FEMALE AND FEMINIST WRITING"

    María Beneyto is one of the most important writers in the context of contemporary Valencian literature. Her creative work has suggested the diversity and multiplicity of the feminine condition, from many of her titles and in most of her texts. 
    The exhibition will open on April 9, 2025 and will exhibit both works by Maria Beneyto and works by authors who influenced her and that are preserved in the Historical Library.

    The study day that was canceled due to DANA, will take place next Wednesday, January 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Aula Magna of the La Nau Cultural Center of the Universitat de València (Calle de la Universitat , 2. 46003 Valencia).

    It will be a free day and open to the public.

    We are back with the activity "Diumenges, a la Històrica!"

    Historical Library reopens on Sundays to exhibit a selection of facsimiles of the most representative works from its valuable collection. Starting on 15 December, the exhibition can be visited free of charge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Duc de Calàbria room.

     

    The works selected for the exhibition include facsimile copies of cartographic documents, Renaissance manuscripts, incunabula, prints from the 16th to 19th centuries and a sample of the collection of children's drawings from the Civil War, which form part of the library's holdings.

     

    Every Sunday, visitors can admire the imposing Duc de Calàbria room, with its original 19th century furniture, where two 17th century spheres are kept, one terrestrial and the other celestial, works by the prominent Dutch cartographers Wilhem and Joan Blaeu.

     

    The initiative "Diumenges, a la Històrica!" offers a magnificent opportunity to enjoy a privileged space and an exceptional collection

    POSTPONED DIA DEL LLIBRE VALENCIÀ. VIU ESTELLÉS

    We have a new date for the Valencian Book Day, it will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in the Duc de Calàbria Room of the Historical Library.

    The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the continuous reading of the work of Vicent Andrés Estellés, and will also feature a musical performance by Mar Morález.
