A conference analyses the challenges and opportunities of women in the digital environment

The Chair of Digital Gender Gap and the Equality Unit of the University of Valencia participate in the conference “ComMujeres. Challenges and opportunities for women in the digital environment. Breaking gaps”, this Thursday, November 26. It is about the collaboration with the ComMujeres project. Digital Communication and Gender, belonging to the Chair of Gender Studies at the University of Valladolid.

This event is part of the activities organised by the University of Valencia on the occasion of #25N, World Day Against Gender Violence.

The lectures will discuss the situation of women in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector and the possibilities for the future, technological and social entrepreneurship, and how these elements can be of great help to give employment opportunities for women and thus reduce the risk of gender-based violence.

The event will be hosted at 11.30 am by Silvia Rueda, director of the Chair of Digital Gender Gap at the University of Valencia, and Teresa Gema Martín, director of the ComMujeres project. Martin, director of the Chair of Gender Studies at the University of Valladolid, also will give the lecture “Women in the face of digital technological reality. Gaps and opportunities”.

Also participating will be Yanna Franco, from the Complutense University of Madrid, with “Gender Perspective in robotics and AI. An analysis from communication” and Margarita Albors, president of the Social Nest Foundation, with “Challenges and opportunities in female technological entrepreneurship”.
