The Virtual Classroom has been the epicentre of teaching in our academic institution, enabling the efficient management of content, activities and communications essential to the education of our students. From its beginnings with "LRN", to the transition to Moodle in 2010, the Virtual Classroom has continuously evolved, adapting to changing needs and enriching the educational experience.

This technological tool has not only improved learning processes, but has also fostered a more active, student-centred pedagogy and has promoted new innovative teaching methodologies at our university. Its impact goes beyond the classroom, and its use has spread to areas other than official teaching or university-specific degrees, creating AV communities for Massive Open Online Courses, specialised training, administrative management, academic bodies, etc. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Virtual Classroom proved to be a fundamental part of educational continuity, facilitating distance teaching and assessment. Its versatility, with more than 500 plugins, makes it possible today to create groups, different types of questionnaires and tasks, carry out workshops and different types of videoconferences, make face-to-face classes more dynamic through participation activities, use interactive videos, as well as monitor student activities, see their evolution and shape their formative and summative assessment processes. 

In the last four years, more than 70,000 courses and communities have been created. There are more than 280,000 active users on the platform and more than 1,470,000 educational activities have been carried out. On this twentieth anniversary, we celebrate the legacy of the Virtual Classroom of the Universitat de València and reaffirm the commitment of our academic institution to educational excellence and continuous innovation.
