The Faculty of Economics of the Universitat de València analyses the application of new technologies to tourism, during the 'Short Term Mobility Week'. The initiative is part of the European Union's Forthem programme.

The week is entitled 'Tourism digitalization and smart tourism destination'. Twenty-five students from the nine universities that make up Forthem (www.forthem-alliance.eu) are taking part, as well as teaching staff from the Faculty of Economics and European researchers, together with companies in the field of tourism intelligence. The aim is to analyse and debate the transformation of the tourism ecosystem in the digital era under the parameters of the Smart Tourism Destination model.

The initiative has the collaboration of Turismo València (of the Provincial Council of Valencia), Visit Valencia and Valencia Convention Bureau. The inauguration was attended by the vice-principal for International Relations, Carles Padilla; the dean of the faculty, Francesc Muñoz, and professor Rosa Roig.
