More than 100 economists gather in the Faculty of Economics in the Annual Meeting of former students
- November 18th, 2016
More than 100 graduates gather on Friday in the 3rd Trobada Alumni organised by the Faculty of Economics of the UV. The act, which starts at 19:00, will serve for paying tribute for the students who finished their studies in 1991, after 25 years of the end of their studies.
The Trobada Alumni is framed in the activities organised on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the faculty. The participant economists at the encounter will confirm first hand that many things have changed since they finished their studies, from the place where the Faculty was located until the own name of the centre.
The presidential table will be integrated by José Manuel Pastor, dean of the Faculty of Economics; Elvira Cerver, vice-dean of Employability and Dynamism; Catalina Cabrera, responsible for the Administrative and Economic Services of the centre; Begoña Giner, graduate of the faculty, who will represent the teaching staff; Javier Ferri, graduate of the honoured promotion, who will represent the students; Juan Luis Gandía, Vice-Principal for Economics, Infrastructures and Information Technologies and graduate of the honoured promotion; and Sylvia Andrés, graduate of the Faculty of Economics of the honoured promotion and head of the Palacio de Congresos of Valencia (Convention Centre in Valencia). They will be in charge of giving the students the sash and representative insignia of the Faculty of Economics.
Furthermore, Begoña Giner, as the professors’ representative, and Javier Ferri, representing the students who graduate, will give a speech to the attendees.
There will be present Ángel Ortí and Máximo Ferrando, who were deans of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences; and the directors of the University School of Business Studies Ramon Torcal, José Luís Monzón and Amparo de la Torre.
The Cor Juvenil of the Unió Musical de Picanya will open the act performing ‘Veni Creator’ and they will close the ceremony with ‘Gaudeamus Igitur’.
The main objective of the Trobada is to resume and reinforce the relationships which were built throughout some years sharing desks with the former students who studied their degree in this Faculty. The fact of meeting again after so many years will be, without any doubt, an event in itself, which will be an additional step in the networking actions of the Valencian economists.
