The Universitat de València, through the University Culture Service and the UV Publications Service, is once again present at the Spain’s Contemporary Art International Fair (ARCOmadrid’24), counting with a stand at the ArtsLibris space.

Since today, 6 March, and until next Sunday, 10 March, the most relevant catalogues of some of the exhibitions carried out at the La Nau Cultural Centre, as well as a selection of titles of the PUV catalogue related to art and aesthetics, will be present to give visibility to the work carried out at the Universitat de València.

In addition to the presence of these books and catalogues, the Universitat de València will also have the chance to present some these works during the celebration of the Fair. It will take place on Saturday, 9 March, from 16:00 to 17:00, when the ‘Speakers’ Corner’ of ArtsLibris hosts the presentation of two catalogues.

On the one hand, it will be ‘Art contra la violència masclista. Tantes dones en una mateixa’, with the participation of Ester Alba, vice-principal for Culture and Society of the Universitat de València, and Semíramis Gonzalez (curator of the exhibition). This catalogue represents, based on the selection of the works of 30 women artists from the heritage collections of the five Valencian public universities, jointly with private collections such as DKV, INELCOM and the Nueva Colección Pilar Citoler, a powerful statement against gender violence in exhibition form.

Next, the presentation of the catalogue ‘Auto-retrato o Doble Digital’  with Ester Alba, vice-principal for Culture and Society of the Universitat de València, and Clara Boj and Diego Díaz, both artists, will be carried out. This publication tackles one of the fundamental changes taking place in our socio-cultural environment: the progressive loss of privacy and the analysis of the data we generate on the hands of companies whose activities are out of our reach.

During these days, it is expected the attendance of professionals, as well as visitors who wish to know better about the editing work of the UV Publications Service and the resulting works of the exhibitions coordinated by the University Culture Service, in a participation that reinforces the commitment of the UV to highlight and strengthen the visibility of the institution at international level.
