The University offers a live broadcast of the 5th Universia International Summit, starting at 12 noon

The event, which will take place until 10 May, will be attended by over 700 University leaders from 14 countries, politicians, the company, national and international institutions.

The Audiovisual Workshop of the University of Valencia offers from 12 noon the link www.uv.es/universia to the event that will take place in the City of Arts and Sciences until 10 May y will have a special previous programme.


Over the course of the three days, leading figures from different fields such as science and academia will take part in the various activities planned. Tim Barners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web; the former Treasury Secretary of U S President Bill Clinton and Chief Economist of the World Bank, Larry Summers; the 2006 Prince of Asturias Award for Scientific Research, Ingacio Cirac or the head of conversational AI research strategy at Google AI, Pilar Manchon, among others.

The event is held under the heading of University and Society, and will take place in a space for debate and reflection in which the participants will discuss the keys that will once again turn the university into an engine of progress for society and sustainable growth.

The 5th Universia International Rector’s Summit, continues the previous events of Salamanca in 2018, Rio de Janeiro in 2014, Guadalajara in 2010 and Sevilla in 2005. Moreover, in this edition, Mavi Mestre, principal of the University of Valencia holds the presidency of the Academic Committee of the Summit.

The conclusions of the Summit will take the form of the “Valencia Declaration", which will reflect the commitment of the rectors to ensure that the university moves forward, through various specific lines of action, with the aim of continuing to contribute to the progress of society.
