The University of Valencia leads the URAP ranking in Spain in Economics, Food Engineering, Business, Education and Commerce

The University of Valencia (UV) is the first in Spain in five subjects in the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) for fields of knowledge, and first in the Valencian Community in 26 of the 33 areas analysed. In addition, in four (Food Engineering, in position 27; Business; History and Astronomy and Astrophysics, it is among the best 100 in the world, and in 14 among the first two hundred. In the institutional ranking, out of 3,000 centres analysed, the UV It is the third academic institution of Spanish higher education, the first Valencian one, and ranks 217 in the world.

The main objective of URAP is to develop a ranking system for universities worldwide based on academic results determined by the quality and quantity of academic publications. The ranking by fields of knowledge has been updated today, Thursday. The bibliometric data provider is Web of Science - Clarivate Analytics.

The five subjects in which the University of Valencia leads the ranking in Spain are Commerce, Management, Tourism and Services; Economy; education; Food Engineering; as well as Business. It is second in Zoology; and third in three more fields of knowledge: Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering and Psychology. In total, in this classification, the Valencian institution is among the top five in 18 of the 33 subjects in which it participates, four more than in the previous edition.

In the Valencian field, the UV is first in subjects such as Astronomy and Astrophysics, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Environmental Sciences and also Biology, Medical and Health Sciences, Chemistry, Education, Pharmacology, Physics, Geology or Nanosciences and Nanomaterials.

In the institutional version of the URAP, updated in January, the UV is the third Spanish higher education centre, the first Valencian and occupies position 217 in the world. Compared to the previous edition, it has advanced three positions on a European scale to reach place 86 and has improved in the score of 5 of the 6 proposed quality indicators (articles, international collaboration, total documents, impact of citations and articles).
