The Universitat of València will take part in the first inter-university online chess tournament to be held next Thursday, May 7, from 5p.m. The tournament will bring together all the Valencian universities that are part of the University Sport Regional Championship (CADU) and is organized by the UJI Sport Service.

This initiative has been prompted by the state of alarm established since March 13 by the Spanish government, which has resulted on the suspension of all CADU individual university championship scheduled for this academic year.

All the Valencian universities that constitute the University Sport Regional Championship (CADU) will be able to compete in the tournament. The number of contestants will be unlimited and each university will be able to register all the members of its university community that are interested (PAS, PDI and alumni) through its Sports Service.

The competition system will be the Masnou System and is expected to last approximately 2 hours.

The tournament will be held on the website www.lichess.org. You have to enter and register previously on this website. It is very simple and completely free, it only requires an e-mail to do so. On the day of the tournament you must enter the website a few minutes in advance through the link and password that will be provided by the organization to those registered.
