The Universitat de València celebrates tomorrow the 25th anniversary of the Optics and Optometry Studies in the Faculty of Physics. The studies started in the 1993-94 academic year, offering the first course of the Bachelor on Optics and Optometry. The celebration will be held during the whole current year with conferences and other activities.
The commemoration ceremony will begin at 9.30 AM in the “Lise Meiner” conference room in the Faculty of Physics and will be presided by Mavi Mestre, Principal of the Universitat de València. She will be accompanied by José Mª Artigas, full professor of Optics, who made the first steps to the creation of the Optics and Optometry Studies in the university. Santiago García, coordinator of the degree; Andrés Gené, president of the Valencian Official School of Opticians and Optometrists; and Jordi Vidal, dean of the Faculty of Physics will also attend the event.
The Faculty of Physics, located in the Burjassot-Paterna Campus of the Univeristat de València, gives degrees in Physics and Optics and Optometry, coordinates 4 official master’s studies and 3 doctoral programmes.
