Vicente Rochela’s team competed with the aim of renewing the autonomic championship and they did it. The judo team of the Universitat de València competed last Saturday 18 February the Regional University Sports Championship (hereinafter CADU) in the municipal hall of Benimaclet against all the universities of the Valencian Community, and they won.

Undefeated during the last years, the athletes of the UV came back home with the gold. The day started with the individual competitions in the absolute or elite category, where the seven corresponding weights for category (male and female) participate , in addition to the athletes in the promotion category.

“We have a very good team and representation in almost all the weights and, although the level of competition has been very high -as expected-, we have won again”, said Rochela, who already confessed his trust in the team to reach the first position again.

In a marathonic day -since the CADU of judo does not count with a pervious league, but it settles in a single day -, the Valencian fighters started with the qualifying rounds (leage of weights) and the reached the finals.

The selector of the Universitat de València, who expected to repeat the triumph as in previous competitions, celebrated the victory and now he prepares his team for the European Championship which will take place in Coimbra (Portugal) the next month of July.
