Four students trained by the Universitat de València have been awarded in the national phase of the Physics Olympiad

Félix Moreno Peñarubia, Marc Beneito Marimón, Javier Alegre Ituarte and Ahmad Saleh Walie have received gold, bronze and two mentions of honour in the national phase of the Physics Olympiad, respectively. It was held last weekend in Valladolid. They were trained by the Universitat de València.

The Physics Olympiad is an international-based competition. Students from numerous countries participate in the competition. It is organised by the Real Sociedad Española de Física (RSEF) at a national level. The Universitat de València, through the Faculty of Physics and the Delegation for University Integration, and the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia were in charge of the local phase of the competition. It took place on February 27. It consisted in a problem-resolution written test and Physics questions. Six students trained by the Universitat de València have participated at a national level from the 13th to the 16th of April.  High school students who participate in this competition aim for local prizes. Among others, there is the possibility of free registration for the first course at the Universitat de València.

They are Félix Moreno, from State Secondary School Eliana; Marc Beneito, from Pious School of Gandia; Javier Alegre, from the Cultural Institution DOMUS and Ahmad Saleh Walie, from the State Secondary School Malilla. Félix Moreno has obtained his second gold medal in the Olympiad and will participate in the international phase of the competition in Lisbon, from the 21st to the 29th of July 2018.
