The activity Agenda helps in scheduling the timetable of appointments with your students.

Teaching staff must indicate the empty slots (date and time) they have for scheduling meetings, then students have to choose one in Moodle.

Teaching staff can record the outcome of the meeting - and optionally add a grade - within the agenda.
Scheduling for groups is supported, i.e. several students can be grouped within each empty time slot, and optionally there is the possibility to schedule appointments for a whole group at once. In addition, another feature offered by this tool is that it allows us to limit the number of appointments that can be scheduled by a student or a group of students.

Once we have defined the schedule, a list of the participants of the course appears; in the agenda, it is possible to check how many students have not yet requested an appointment, as well as the time and date of the participants who have requested an appointment.

So, once the agenda has been created, confirmation of the appointments by the students is expected. The option to send an invitation or send a reminder to encourage and/or remind students that an open agenda is available is also offered.

In addition, we can also schedule the appointment ourselves, by setting a day and time, of which our students will be notified. By clicking "Mark as seen now", we are notifying our student that we have seen that they have scheduled the appointment.

We can perform the following actions when a student has requested an appointment (or if we have scheduled it ourselves):

  • We can delete the appointment.
  • We also have the option to edit the scheduled appointments.
  • To record that one or more students have attended the appointment, we can mark the attendance. This also allows us to keep track of which students have attended the meeting and which have not.
  • When a student or we schedule an appointment, we can also cancel it.

Among the features offered by edit appointment, we can make changes such as modifying the date and time of the agenda, the length of the appointment, we can leave a message to the student to notify him/her of the reason for modifying an initially scheduled appointment or to remind him/her of a specific topic to be discussed during the meeting.
