The laptops loan time in the libraries of the University of Valencia will be 15 days. They can be renewed up to 6 times.

We remind you that for the loan of laptops you will be asked to show your ID card to prove that the holder of the university card is the person who has the card.

Laptops may not be borrowed in the name of third parties, e.g., using authorizations.

The loan will be made at the library or by reservation in the Trobes catalog.  In this video you can see how to make a laptop reservation in Trobes catalogue.

Which libraries loan laptops?

Service conditions:

  • The Library and Documentation Service will provide laptop computers on loan to students, male and female professors, visiting professors, administration and service staff of the University of Valencia and users with UV Alumni links, to be able to access to electronic information through the Wifi network of the Universitat de València.
  • The deliverance and return of the laptop will always be done at the library loan desk.

During the loan period:

  • Users are responsible for the laptop and its safekeeping. They may not modify or alter the configuration or contents of the device and must return it in the same condition in which it was loaned to them.
  • Users are responsible for saving any information they create on external storage devices and must not leave any copies on the loaned laptop. The University shall not be held responsible for the loss or use of such information.

The following penalties will apply:

  • For returning the laptop late: suspension of borrowing privileges for 1 day for each day overdue.
  • If the borrower causes damage to the laptop: they must cover the cost of the repair or pay into the University of Valencia's bank account the amount corresponding to the replacement value of the laptop.
  • If the borrower fails to return the laptop: they must pay into the University of Valencia's bank account the amount corresponding to the replacement value of the laptop.
  • Likewise, the unjustified failure to return the laptop may constitute the criminal offence of misappropriation under the terms established by the Criminal Code. In such cases, following a prior written request, the University of Valencia shall file the corresponding complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office in order to determine any personal liabilities that may arise.

The above measures shall not be applied if the borrower provides documentary evidence that the loss or damage occurred for reasons not attributable to them or without any negligence on their part. This circumstance must be demonstrated through the documentation deemed appropriate in each specific case. In any event, the borrower may not use the loan service until the situation has been regularised.
