The Universitat de València wins new medals at the CEU 2025 and consolidates its presence on the national university podium

The University of Valencia has achieved outstanding results in the framework of the Spanish University Championships (CEU) 2025, held in Madrid and which brought together more than 7,000 athletes from 85 universities in a total of 28 disciplines.
The Universitat de València has achieved outstanding results in the framework of the Spanish University Championships (CEU) 2025, held in Madrid and which have brought together more than 7,000 athletes from 85 universities in Spain. The judo team's performance stands out especially, with an excellent balance in both individual competitions and in the team classification. In the women's category, Laura Torregrosa Pina won bronze in -48 kg, while Aitana Fernández Herrera and Aitana Sala Cano both won silver in -63 kg and -78 kg, respectively. In the men's category, Marc García San Rafael won silver in -81 kg. In addition, the UV judo team won the team bronze, confirming its solidity and projection.
In men's volleyball, the University won a meritorious bronze medal, reflecting the hard work and competitiveness of its members. The men's paddle tennis team also reached the podium, with a valuable bronze medal that reaffirms the good moment of this discipline.
On the other hand, the women's football team reached the quarter-finals, losing in a hard-fought match that highlighted the effort and the level shown throughout the competition.
In the sailing competition, organised by the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, the UV expedition finished with the silver medal, consolidating its position as one of the reference institutions in this modality.
With these results, the Universitat de València reaffirms its leading role in university sport on a national scale and is grateful for the effort, dedication and sporting spirit of all the students taking part.
