The Universitat de València golf team will participate next week in the University Spanish Golf Tournament, which will take place at León Club de Golf, between April 29 and 29. The best university players will compete in the Tournament and it will be the leap to the participation in international university tournaments.
Universitat de València team will participate in this edition with a completely new team, both male and female category. Ana María Baixauli, Patricia Edo, Jorge Sancho and José María Fuster will be representative figures of the Universitat de València in this nacional tournament. The selector, José Campos, states “this is the first time for the new players to paricipate in a Spanish University Tournament. They follow the lidership of those golf players -like José Bondía, Sixto Casabona or Almudena Blasco- who achieved great victories for the Universitat, both at a national and international level”.
The selector declares that the team “is strongly committed to the cause, María Amparo and Patricia are in the 5th and 7th position in the initial list of participants, thanks to their golf handicaps, 1.8 and 2.8 respectively. Both Jorge and José María are in the middle part of the hadicaps list, with 1.8 and 2.8 respectively. With all this, we are certain about the team commitment in order to reach the best results, despite it is their first appearance in a tournament of this level”.
León Club de Golf field will embrace those players who will have to measure themselves over 18 holes, par 72 and 6.325 km in order to achieve the valued national trophy.
