The Facebook and Twitter profiles of the Physical Education and Sports Service of the Universitat de València have recently over 1000 followers. With the objective of continuing motivating the different collectives to join their social networks, the Physical Education and Sports Service organised the last month a contest for all their followers and this Tuesday, 21 June, Belén Olcina was recognised as the winner during an event celebrated at the Service facilities of the Blasco Ibáñez Campus

Belén Olcina, student of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences of the Universitat de València became the focus of a homage where José Campos, director of the Physical Education and Sports Service, gave her a sport pack and the free registration for a semester in any of the offered activities, as well as his gratitude for her loyalty and commitment with the academic and sport entity. The winner of the contest said that she discovered ‘the Service networks because other classmates started to follow them and to share publications, when I went into the web page I realised that all the competitions were published and that I could be informed of all the results and games, because the truth is that they upload many photos and videos. Regarding the contest, I saw the publication in my Facebook and I saw that my classmate Nacho had also participated. I thought that the idea was cool, because in addition to the free registration for an activity I also saw that the prize was a sport pack, that I knew because of my handball team classmates. I thought it was nice and I decided to participate, my surprise came the following week when I was told that I was the winner. I am very happy and thankful to the Physical Education and Sports Service for this raffle and I hope that they keep growing in social networks in order to give other people the opportunity of participating and winning other contests’.

For the director of the Service, José Campos, ‘we couldn’t have received a better welcome from the university community. Social networks allow us to interact with all of our followers, knowing their opinions more directly and as a consequence, improving our services and quality of our actions. We are very grateful for the welcome and continuity of these initiatives and with this contest we wanted to thank all the followers for their commitment with the Physical Education and Sports Service’.

The social networks of the Service publish news generated by the Physical Education and Sports Service of the Universitat de València. The Facebook and Twitter profiles are updated everyday with the latest news published in www.uv.es/sed and with the latest hour of the games of the university teams. Among all the hashtags used by the Service for the spreading of news, #uv_cadu and #uv_ceu had a very good reception, and make it possible to follow the results of the local and national competition immediately, and have been the most followed hashtags since the Physical Education and Sports Service started to use these networks.
