The women’s basketball team of the Universitat de València participated between 25 and 28 April, the Spanish University Championship were they achieved the third position and the Championship’s bronze trophy.
The team coached by Pau Gaya played a great tournament. Divided into groups, the UV team had to win against the Universdad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM), the Universidad de Salamanca and the Universidad de Córdoba. The team started facing the Universidad de Córdoba on the 25, a game dominated from beginning to end by Gaya’s girls and which was closed with a 95-65. They were not so lucky in the second session; a hard UCAM team won the UV team with a 68-55, leaving the Valencian team with very little possibility of going to the finals. The third game of the group phase, the UV won against the Universidad de Salamanca, but UCAM did the same and came in first of the group for the finals, leaving the UV team second of the group and bronze at the Championship.
As in previous university sport competitions, the Physical Education and Sports Service will broadcast live the matches through its official social networks (Twitter:@sefuv and www.facebook.com/SEFUV) in which will offer to all supporters the more immediate information of the match results as well as the athlete’s sensations and statements- Between Facebook and Twitter publications, they reached over 5000 impressions.
