Divina Pastora Chair for Adapted Sports collaborated with the international symposium of physical activity, health and social justice: vulnerable population that took place in the University of Valencia’s Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Science the days 13th and 14th of May.

José Campos, director of the Chair and the Physical Education and Sports Service from the UV participated in the panel: ‘Functional vulnerabilities, physical activity and sports’. He showed the Chair as a example with his presentation about ‘disabilities in the University’, Friday afternoon.

The Symposium wanted to make visible the necessities and problems of the damaged groups (women, disabled people, immigrants, gypsies, refugees or prisioners, children, teenagers and elderly people, among others) when doing physical activity and sports. During the conference the role of the research about physical or sporting exercise was reclaimed in order to contribute to social justice in a space where discussion, thoughts and reflections helped the participants to progress to a fairer society.

The Saturday evening session embraced the presentations of posters. Joan Úbeda presented the poster elaborated by the members of the Adapted Sports Observatory in the Spanish Universities that participate in the Chair:”The belonging to sport associations in University of Valencia disabled students”.
