
Héctor Cabrera and Mónica Merenciano, students of the Universitat de València and members of the UV Divina Pastora Chair of Adapted Sports, are this year’s Awardees of Sporting Merits of the Valencia.
This award stands out sports players, clubs, institutions, media companies and enterprises which have collected merits in different categories along 2015.
Both Cabrera and Merenciano have been awarded in the category of most highlighted athletes with functional disabilities in 2015 (in the women’s and men’s category, respectively).
The athlete Héctor Cabrera, was awarded for his participation in the World’s Champiobnship of Doha in the categories of javelin and disk throwing for visually-impaired athletes. His mate Mónica Merenciano, because she got a Bronze Medal in the World’s Championship of judo, which took place in Hungary.
The awards will be bestowed next 6 October in an event at La Petxina Sports-Culture Facilities.
