On 30 June, the Office of the Vice-Principal for Undergraduate Degree Studies and Language Policy of the Universitat de València decided the aids call for top-level and elite athletes of the Universitat for the 2016-2017 academic year.
The aim of these aids is the development of the support programme for top-level and elite athletes of the Universitat de València so that they can combine their sport activity with their academic studies, a fact that will help to the total inclusion of these athletes in the university education system.
Athletes will have academic tutoring available to help them combine their academic activity with the sport; they have available the sports facilities and the resources of the Physical Education and Sports Services for the development of their trainings, as well as medical follow-up services, physical therapy services, free sport retraining and physical training thanks to the Athletes Support Office. They will also get 1,5 ECTS credits for being members of some of the Universitat teams and participating in the University Spanish Championship, International University Championships and in the University Autonomous Championship.
