The Universitat de València's La Nau Cultural Centre, through the University Culture Service, has scheduled a concert by Everlastrings for this Friday, 11th February, at 7 p.m. Formed by the guitarist Davish G. Álvarez and the singer and guitarist Monty Peiró, their repertoire is made up of hard rock and heavy metal classics, arranged in duo format. This activity, which forms part of the "Músicas Urbanas" cycle, took place in the Sapiencia Chapel.
Monty Peiró has been part of Sweet Little Sister, Grande Quivira, Femme Fractal and The Backseats among others. She has collaborated with bands as different as the Swedish Hardcore Superstar, Alfredo Piedrafita de Barricada, Los Chikos del Maíz or Mafalda. She has also been backing vocalist for Seguridad Social, Neus Ferri, Reina Roja and Ramonets. Active for twenty years, she has always defended the role of women in rock and metal. She currently directs the section 'Pioneras' in the music programme Territori sonor on À Punt radio, in which she investigates pioneering women in the history of the Valencian Community.
Davish G. Álvarez is the guitarist and composer of Angelus Apatrida, the most international metal band in the Spanish metal scene. They have toured Europe and Latin America and have played in countries such as Japan and China. With their last album, the eponymous Angelus Apatrida, they were number one in sales in Spain. Davish is considered one of the best metal guitarists and he is a guitar teacher.
The concert was sold out.
After Fallas, Platz on the Burjassot campus
The "Musiques Urbanes" cycle of the Universitat de València will continue at the Burjassot Campus (Charles Darwin Hall) next Tuesday 22nd March, at 8.15 pm, with the concert of the Valencian group Platz. The activity is part of the programme "Cultura als campus" of the University, through which the University Culture Service brings cultural initiatives to the university campuses.
The Valencian band formed by Massad Kassab (guitar/vocals), Daniel Biot (drums), Lucas Calpe (guitar) and Víctor Fèlix (bass). They have recorded an EP, 'Todo el mundo tiene sueño'. They are currently preparing the compositions for their first LP. Most of the members are under 17 years old, and for that reason, they overflow with energy and enthusiasm on stage, with songs that "drink from the dramatic and the elegantly decadent", according to publications such as "Mondosonoro". Their songs have been heard in cult programmes such as "Disco grande", "Los 39 sonidos" or "El club de amigos del crimen".
